Tragic Fire Claims 3 Lives in Bulacan Junk Shop

By Kevin Galang: A family of three, including a seven-year-old girl, perished in a blaze that engulfed a junk shop in Meycauayan, Bulacan on Friday afternoon.

The victims were identified by Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. as Artemio Ines Jr., his live-in partner Christina Ababon, and their daughter Angel Ines. They were employees of the Akilan Scrap Trading, located on Soriano Street, Barangay Libtong.

According to an investigation, the fire broke out at around 1 p.m. and quickly spread to the surrounding materials. It took more than two hours for the firefighters to contain the fire, which reached the third alarm level.

The charred remains of the family were recovered from the rubble after the fire was put out.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still being determined by the authorities.
